Ms. MacDonald was born in Hollywood, Florida and moved to Vienna, Virginia in the middle of 7th grade. She went to Thoreau middle school and Madison high school. For college, she studied at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida and got a bachelors degree in psychology with a minor in education. After graduating, she moved back home to Vienna and started a career in human resources. With two years of experience in HR, she felt that her time would be better used teaching these skills to children, rather than adults. She got her masters degree in education with a concentration in counseling at George Mason University and has happily been a school counselor for 4 years. In her free time she enjoys walking the trails of Reston, searching the little free libraries for good books, and planning her next vacation. Some favorite places have been Costa Rica, the Amalfi Coast in Italy, and Louisville, Kentucky.
