Patience Galvan is excited to start her 4th year at Kent Gardens! This will be her 18th year teaching and her 9th teaching 1st grade. Patience’s husband is a web developer and they have 2 daughters: a 3rd grader at Kent Gardens and an almost 3 year old. As a child, Patience moved around a lot - she lived in Maryland, Georgia, and California by the time she was 16! Her mom was her first grade teacher and that’s where it all began! Patience earned her B.S. in International Business (with French minor) from California State University, Sacramento with dreams to be in the business world. After managing a music store and working as an accountant for a commercial interiors firm, Patience decided to make a big switch to teaching! She then earned her master’s degree in elementary education from George Mason University and has been working in Fairfax County ever since. Mrs. Galvan LOVES the art of teaching and is dedicated to making this the best school year yet!
