Annie Dwyer is a native of Southern France. She grew up in St. Raphaël, a small town on the French Riviera, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Linguistics and Literature from the University of Nice. Later, she moved to Northern Virginia and earned a Master’s Degree in French and a teaching license from George Mason University. She was an instructor at George Mason University and Northern Virginia Community College for six years, taught French in middle school, and started her elementary education career in Maryland in a full immersion program. As one of the pioneer teachers in the French Immersion program for FCPS, Annie started teaching at Herndon Elementary School and has been teaching at Kent Gardens since 1998. She likes to travel, hike, read, swim, run and spend time with her husband, two children, Dylan and Léah, and her golden retriever, Sunny. Annie is looking forward to another great year!
